So Unethical

We had our common washroom's basin changed 2 weeks ago, then we noticed a problem, each time after use, some water will accumulate and doesn't drain off completely, it's the amount that doesn't air dry itself even after one whole night.

I called the salesman, he replied,"Actually it is quite common that water accumulates in the basin, more or less there will be some."

Sigh... Yes I don't have the expertise in toilet installation, but please don't smoke me just because I'm a girl, or that I looked (to you) young and naive. I told him,"I'm not sure if it's the problem of the basin or the workmanship. If you tell me it's part of the design, I'll need to have it changed, if it's the workmanship, please have it corrected."

The salesman paused awhile and said,"Our customer service officer will call you back." You should have said this earlier uncle.

Then the manager from the customer service called me and very briefly, he said,"I will get someone to check out your basin this weekend, the person will call you."

So on the weekend, the someone came with a basin, he checked our basin and said, "I'm not going to touch your basin because it's not the basin's problem, it's the workmanship." He called the office, the customer service manager said he will get the previous guy who did the installation to come down, so this guy left with his basin.

Awhile later, another guy came, never seen him before. He asked, "who installed this basin for you?" Then we realised that, the previous guy who claimed to be him is actually his worker. He then made a phone call and complaint that the worker did not do a good job. He then detached the basin and attached it back 'properly'. But the basin is still a bit tilted and the water doesn't drain off completely though it looks better than before. So he changed the water stopper and surprisingly the water all drained like normal! So it seems to be the water stopper's fault!!

NO! You are wrong! I've just discovered that whether you lock it or not, the water still drain, coz it bypass the stopper and drain off! There's a gap between the stopper and the basin!!! I don't think he overlooked this, I think he purposely did it.

This is a very small matter, I actually don't need the stopper to stop the water from draining but it just bothers me when it doesn't function the way it's suppose to be. They are lucky that I wasn't around during both installations! Don't worry I won't scold them, I will just gently remind them,"Are you sure you are done?"

Sigh.. never mind already la, the next time they came, maybe they will say... I think your toilet is a bit tilted, your whole building is ia bit slanted... bla bla bla... Ya... all other things are at fault except your product and your workmanship. This is just so %@T#$M%@D#$!!

Mok~Mok

Tonight, CCM drove us to Jalan Kayu for Prata in his new Honda Jazz. Discovered two mobs in his car. "eee... What are these?". He couldn't name them, but he said the purple one is himself, and the green one is his wife. They look like mok~mok, aren't they? Haha...

Office Wear ~ Latest Trend!

This is the latest fashion in the office.
erm... in my office i mean.

It's like a uniform that everyone has a pair. My colleague can't decide which pair she likes so we ended up having one side each. I don't mind coz it's quite cute, but I don't wear coz it's too warm and not very convenient to walk with. Some colleagues forget to change and walk into another department with it, some nearly entered the toilet with it. lol...

Anyway, if you really love to have one for practical use, buy an open toe one, else it would end up as a display, just my 2 cents.

WMF

Bought a new wok yesterday, this time round we go for stainless steel, hopefully it last longer than the non-stick one.

The wok is very heavy, I think one round of cooking = one set of weight lifting! Or maybe the wok is for guy?!?!! Yeah! Darl does the cooking & washing! I eat. Yeah!!

Taiwan

These are some of the food you get to see & eat at Shilin Night Market (士林夜市) @ Taipei. I believe Taiwan has the best Mango Dessert in the world, must try! The rest of the food are very local, depends on individuals.

Some other nice food we had in the restaurants. The breakfast set on the bottom left is very interesting. The bread covered with varieties of nuts is toasted with sugar and it's very very special! I can't help going back the next morning for another set. Haha!

Eating in Taiwan is cheap and affordable. Some restaurants may seem too expensive to walk-in, but you will be surprise to find out later that you are paying lesser than expected. You will never get to eat a Full 8-Course Western Dinner for 2 @ only SGD50 in Singapore!

Ministry of Food

Char Siew Ramen
(Taste like any ordinary Ramen, too bad the Char Siew is quite hard and dry, but the egg is very nicely done.)

Ice-cream Dessert
(The glutinous rice is very chewy, nice!)

Chatterbox Chicken Rice @ Downtown East

Christmas Decor @ Downtown East

Had Chatterbox Chicken Rice @ Downtown East. I finished the chicken rice with 3 small saucers of ginger sauce, guys don't take ginger one, so I eat all. I love ginger! I also love the tofu (beancurd). Whether it's in soup, deep fried, cold, stinky... etc. I love them all, except egg tofu.

Nutritional Benefits of Tofu :
  • Tofu set with calcium sulfate can confer a significant amount of calcium to the diet
  • High in protein
  • Relatively low in fat (especially compared to meat)
  • Easily digestible
  • Contains iron

What is a moo~moo?

Very naturally, when people see a cat, they will call it mimi, see a dog will call it ou~ou or poppi, see a Teddy will call it bear~bear. However, one thing tat puzzled me was, in my office i sometimes overheard one calling another - "You bird~bird la~" !??!?!

Anyway, tonight I would like to introduce you to a little pet adopted by Dean, in his iPhone. He calls it moo~moo, guess what it is!

Result to be announced tomorrow! If you guess it right, you can have his pet!
Stay Tuned!

第二天。。。

If you have guessed it right, like I've said, you can have his pet, though I also think that it's more appropriate to be called a mek~mek. However, you'd win! Congratulation!

To claim your winning prize, just do a right click on moo~moo >> and select the option "Save Image As..."

For those who did not guess it right this time, don't be disheartened. If you have guessed it as a cow, you deserve a consolation prize, coz I think cow deserved the name of moo~moo. So, here it goes. Cow Dung. lol~

For those who guessed neither, try harder next time. Good luck!

Turn the Globe Around

Darl's colleagues from Paris & London were on their business trip to Singapore for the first time. They were told that Singapore is very warm, so they came in short sleeves with tie. Guess what happened? They ended up complaining that the air-con in the meeting room is too cold, and had to open up the windows to 'defrost'. Haha..

When Darl's colleagues from Japan came over for business, they were well warned by their experienced colleagues that Singapore is very cold, which they then realised that it's quite true. Their air-con has never been so fully utilised, when Darl went over to Japan, he always adjust the temperature until all his Japanese colleagues were 'frozen' in the meeting room. Haha..

If I didn't remember wrongly Hongkong is one country that loves to blast air-con too, I almost have to shop in winter garments already. Maybe most Asian countries along the equator tend to blast air-con, quite understood la..

When we were in Europe, some of the places we bunked did not on air-con eventhough it's not winter yet. Sometimes it's quite stuffy to sleep without one, and quite impossible to sleep with open windows too, coz it's very noisy and unsafe. The streets are just so busy, and the polices just can't stop patroling. Zzz... I remembered once woke up and looked down the street, I saw two police cars with some policemen chasing two men, the men were handcuffed and sent away. I thought it was some movie shooting..

I also remembered that my foster parents always turn on the heater in the car during winter time, they were in layers of knitted sweaters already, and still on heater! Omg, I am already objecting by removing my clothes layer by layer, they still can't get it, maybe they are cold. =( I nearly turned into a hard boiled egg. =(

I think it's only fair if the globe could turn a different direction once every few years. With this we could take turn to enjoy some dry and cool air, while the ang mo can have enough of the sunshine too since they like it so much. Don't you agree?!

Mutton Briyani

This is one of the only Indian food that I like. mm.. wat m i talking!?

A piece of mutton (big one), is hidden in the rice mountain. When I can't finish the rice, I'll do a carpet search to make sure that I don't miss any raisin and almond among the rice. At times Darl will help me search too, like treasure hunt! haha..

**Please don't comment on the look! It's really not bad la!!

Paper Cuts

Our dept - just 7 of us, could use up to 4 reams of A4 papers per week.
Just counted, I've 4 paper cuts on hands... zZzz... No more pretty fingers..

Darl just showed me his finger, also got one paper cut, don't know how he got it.. lol..

Food is nice, but service is not there...

Prawn & Fruit Salad

Salmon with Smashed Potato

Food is nice, but service is not there.

Why I said so,
  1. Salad served without cutlery, eat with what?
  2. Upon request, they give us a fork with food residual stuck on it.
  3. Raised our hand to signal for waitresses, all pretend didn't see us.
  4. The manager came, we show him the fork, he grabbed it and turned away before we finish talking. He did came back with a clean one, maybe it's kinda common to them.
  5. Drink not served till we left.
I thought I'm in some other country. Maybe I used to be in service line myself, therefore I've some kinda expectation, sad to say they've totally failed my acceptable service level.

Butter Crabs

Today wasn't a very happy day. After late lunch, I slept till 7pm+. Darl treated me to a crab dinner. As I was on the phone with my boss for more than 30 minutes, he 'dissected' all the crabs for me, lol. =D

Was updating my boss on office stuffs & progress. She is very understanding and her words are encouraging. I feel much better after the conversation. Thanks a lot! =D

We ordered 3 Butter Crabs for SGD23.

I ate 2 of the shells with many eggs inside, my favourite.
Darl says eating the crab legs feels like eating chicken drumstick.

Wolfberry leaves soup, my favourite too. =D

Busy busy...

I feel very nauseous today, not sure if that's stress. I only know that the bigx3 boss is coming in today, so the bigx2 boss says she needs to rush some reports to present to the bigx3 boss, so nobody should disturb her. And since the bigx1 boss is not around, I have to do all the approving, and today's volume is crazy! And when you are at the busiest, everyone starts calling you, sorry no time to entertain, please drop me emails if you want and I'll read them later, if you can't wait then you can call any of my bosses direct. zZz.. try it, please.

Tomorrow have to reach office by 8am, think I better go sleep liao ... nite ... =(

Internet Addiction Disorder (IAD)

We talked over a buffet lunch the other day and here are some of the conversations that I could still remember.
  • Spotted a champion eater, and one said,"Omg, I wonder how could he download the whole bowl of cake into his stomach!"
  • Next moment, another said,"I can't eat anymore, could we delete some that we don't want? Ask the waiter to clear the plates first."
  • Today a friend go for a function and he sms me,"At the hotel already and now serving the first disc."
Could this is one of the symptoms of IAD (Internet Addiction Disorder) ?

Quoted from Straits Times Nov 11,2008 :
China could become the first country to classify Web addiction as a clinical disorder. Their manual states symptoms of IAD includes :

- persistent yearning to go online
- mental or physical distress
- irritation
- difficulty in concentrating
- difficulty in getting to sleep
"A person must show at least one of these symptoms over the past 3 months and spend at least 6 hours online a day to be diagnosed as an addict," said Dr Tao.

Erm.. a bit vague to judge this way right? It seems like everyone could be diagnosed as an addict already. lol...

爱心面包

This morning I rested awhile in the bus, when I woke up, I'm still,.. almost at the same spot. What happened? I'm gonna be late! I sms-ed Dean coz he stays near my office (Ops.. that means he stays at Ulu-ulu place.. lol). He says there's an accident along the road, he's just out of the jam and could wait for me somewhere nearby to rush me to my office when I alight the bus. Thank you so much but I got bring umbrella, also I'm already late, so never mind la... tq tq =D

Due to the traffic jam, I reached office without breakfast, wondering how to survive till lunch time. Then suddenly a colleague offered to toast bread for all of us. See.. got 爱心早餐 =D What a pleasant surprise.

If my ex-colleagues read this, they are gonna say, wah!! so free huh!?!? lol..

Tea Break - Naughty Tart

Reached office this morning, found a small tart on my desk. The culture here is very different, the colleagues always buy food/drink/thing not only for themselves but for everyone in the office. If it happened that they only have one, they will break it into many pieces and share with everyone. It's like a small family of siblings.

The 'B' on the tart stands for Blueberry. Darl says it's a naughty tart, coz it has freckles, just like me! He always say I am naughty coz he says only naughty people have freckles... zzz... actually the tart has pores, not freckles. But it taste quite nice.

Tea break! We had ice-cream and some biscuits. Because of the food food, I am able to stay back for OT till late, coz it's raining heavily and I'm so call 'stucked' in the ulu-ulu office. Hopefully with tonight's OT, tomorrow can go home earlier. =)

79 Days SLA to Acknowledge a Complaint?

Finally.
Finally received a reply from TM net after a long wait.
It took them 79 Days to acknowledge a complaint.
What kinda SLA is this???

Anyway, I still don't get any answer I want from their standard reply template, basically, they are asking me to wait again ... Have been waiting for more than a year already... Arrggg... This is just so frustrating!!!

Weekend - Nap

Haven't got chance to tryout my new shoes, Darl falls sick after the Botak Jones, therefore no gym this week. He hasn't step out of the house since Friday night, and is eating very little these 2 days. Today he's better already, though still in pyjamas with pillow in hands, he came into the room and offered me some Butter Cookies just now, has appetite to eat something at last!

I picked the one in the centre (horseshoes) and the one on the front left (got raisin one). Which one is your favourite? =D

Now Darl goes to sleep again...
Mmm...
I think I'll also take a nap...
Nothing to do...

Updates :
Darl & Dean like the horseshoes.
Hil has the same taste as me. =D

可怜 の日本戏

最近看了两部戏。 如果想大哭一场,可以介绍你看。

最可怜 : 空恋 (Koizora)

第二可怜 : 犬と私の10の約束 (10 Promises To My Dog)

这部是Dean介绍我们看的,看小狗的样子就知道它很可怜。
两部戏都是悲剧收场,所以要有心理准备。

Weekday Out @ Orchard

On leave today. Darl also took leave to 'pei' me. =D
Had High-tea at a Jap-Western Restaurant. Nice ambiance but the food is so so only. Can't live without coffee nowadays, it's addictive!

Bought a dress from Lves, just nice got 2 wedding dinners coming up this year end. Also bought a red sweater with hood, love it!

Also bought a pair of New Balance, getting ready to sprint on badminton court, Dean says want to challenge me wor, come lor! But I haven't buy badminton racket yet.. wait lar.. lol..

Darl has been very patience with me shopping from one shop to the other, and changing dresses one after another, so I've decided to treat him to a movie! Didn't know that weekday's pass only cost SGD6 each when paying by Nets, he happy I also happy. =D

Watched Quantum of Solace. Mmm... so so only.

Had our dinner at the newly opened Botak Jones @ Orchard Rd. Only ordered one set to share, coz it's American size and it's way toooo meaty for me. lol. Sorry so picky.

After our meal, all too tired to walk any inch further, flag a cab where we were to head home and call it a day.

Charcoal Mollie & Friends

This is mollie's new look. Mollie turned charcoal after the Big Walk yesterday.
Serious, it's really hot yesterday morning.
(Pic above : Mollie, Darl, Dean & Jen)

At first I wanted to put up the Kitty's banner, then Darl pointed out, "eee... how come the kitty's pet is a doggie???" Oh no.. If Little Blue saw this, he's gonna bark and make hell lotsa noise. So I think better not take the risk.

After yesterday's walk, my legs are a bit stiff today, but I don't feel much coz I've been sitting at my work station the whole day, from 8.30am till 8.30pm... Today is really busy... and stress... I think I need to take a break some time this week. See how...

Big Walk 2008

Woke up at 5.30am, left the house at 6am, ta-pao McD and reached Suntec at 7.15am, just nice. =) The walk started at 7.30am, and were attended by 20,000 people. This is our first Big Walk and we signed up with Dean & Jen. The photo explained the journey today, I think it's more than 5km, including the zigzag queue for the goodie bag and the shutter bus.

Goodie bags

Gear for the walk.

After the walk, we had porridge buffet. We had around 20 small dishes (in small saucers). But not bad still can finish. =D And I think we bump into some champion eaters.. Visit Dean's blog for more info.. [Link] haha..

After that, reached home, showered, and slept from 4.30pm to 6.30pm..
Now 10.30pm, time for dinner! lol...

Bowling = Boring

Went bowling* with colleagues last night.

Huh? Mollie -> bowling? Never heard of right?
Yalor.. Our Halloween event.
No la.. haha.. just a get-together with colleagues from another department. Anyway, I didn't bowl, just go and c look c look, eat, gossip, chit chat and freeze... (the aircon is super cold, the place is also quite noisy)

Talk about bowling, Darl enjoys bowling and he even bought his own pair of bowling shoes, and used to go bowling with colleagues every Friday during lunch break. lol..

I don't understand bowling just like how I don't understand golf. Joined korkor for golf sessions many times already, but still don't understand what is so interesting.. My handphone also have Pinball and Golf Games, I think play that one more interesting. Haha!

*Bowling is a game in which players attempt to score points by rolling a bowling ball along a flat surface into objects called pins. Indoor variations :
  1. Ten-pin bowling
  2. Candlepin bowling
  3. Duckpin bowling
  4. Five-pin bowling
  5. Nine-pin skittles
  6. Bumper bowling
  7. Power Wheelchair Bowling
