I dragged Darl out of the bed to help Dean with the shifting because i haven't sit in a pick-up before. Last time when we shift house, Kor & Lin also excitedly came over to help up though we engaged moving company. This time round I also couldn't help k-po-ing when friends move house. Hehe.. But the guys just wouldn't let me touch any of the stuffs except light items like table lamp, cushion etc.. zzz...
My first time sitting behind a pick-up! Darl says luckily the weather is very nice and the road condition is good or else it won't be so fun (for me as a first-timer). Dean has been driving very slowly for our safety, until when he drives his saloon car he is also driving very quietly and carefully, then he says, he forget that he's not driving a lorry already. Hahaha!
I think driving lorry is one way to train patience. lol..
Actually they had those that rolled on the peanuts. I had the 2 naked one, coz I had fever since Thursday followed by bad sore throat. Darl says that day my face was as red as an apple, the temperature of 39.5 explained why. Thanks to Dean who sent me home after work as I'm too ill to travel alone.
And I think Darl wake up 10 times in the middle of the night to feel my forehead.. lol.. but this time I didn't ask him to be "fever monitor" le.. lol.. But luckily he got monitor, then mid-night wake me up to take panadol again.
Thanks to papa too.. he boiled me "爱心 liang-teh"
Weekend is over, tomorrow working again.. haiz.. haven't recover le..
2 weeks ago, a colleague asked if i have 2009 calendar. Yes, I will have one soon, Dean says he will give me. A week later she asked again, I say I got it already but forget to bring to office. Then 2 days ago, I took it out and placed on my desk.
She saw it and said "Oh no! Not nice one!" Then she took out one of her many collections and asked me to use this instead. The inside is very cute, and behind still got stickers oh.. kekeke... I happily accepted it and placed it on my desk. Thank you hor..
err.. Dean I will place your calendar at home k? My dad would like to have it too coz got chinese calendar inside. Hehe.. Thank you hor..
Had Pastamania's Hawaiian Pizza for dinner before catching a mid-night show with Dean & Jen.
Watched 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' - starred by Keanu Reeves & Jennifer Connelly.
Keanu Reeves portrays Klaatu, an alien whose arrival on our planet triggers a global upheaval. As governments and scientists race to unravel the mystery behind the visitor's appearance, a woman (Jennifer Connelly) and her young stepson get caught up in his mission - and come to understand the ramifications of his being a self-described “friend to the Earth.”
It started off kinda promising, but there's nothing much actually.
I think 'The Day After Tomorrow' is a much better show. A movie directed by Roland Emmerich, about how global warming changed the earth's climate into Ice Age. It's one of the most visually stunning movies I've ever watched since 2004. Can't believe it's that long already.
After the show, we headed down to Jalan Kayu for supper - Roti Prata Kosong & Teh Halia. Reached home around 2.30am.
Vivocity - every time i go, i get lost. It's so big like a maze, and yet it's still so packed during festive season.
It's our 10th Anniversary and Darl wanted to treat me No Signboard. However, I prefer to chop chop with the food so I could spend more time shopping. lol. We ended up at this very 古色古香 foodcourt and ordered the following :
The pork knuckle is very nice, but the bakuteh is more than disappointing. They have two gradings for the bakuteh and we ordered the better one, the portion is very pathetic though the soup is refillable. A bowl itself cost $7.50 = 3 pieces of bones + garlic. Guess you can gauge the size of the bowl by looking at the size of the garlic. Most importantly, it doesn't taste as nice as the one at Bedok. Overall, not so value for money.
This is the first time I've been to this place - City Plaza. If you haven't heard of also never mind, because it's a very run down shopping mall, nothing much to see.
Why we ended up here is because I keep wanting to go Metro (got 20% sales - 1 day only), so Dean just conveniently turned into any shopping mall along the road. There's no Metro there, so we settle our lunch first. Dean recommended this :
The 2 guys shared the couple meal, I didn't eat any so dunno how is it like. Only took a bit of Salad and Rootbeer.
After nap, Darl brought me to Metro at Compass, I saw a nice bag, was hesitating... then...
Darl : You already have many bags. Mollie : But I don't have one for the evening dress. Darl : The type with compartments inside? Mollie : Ya... with compartments for... Darl : For chicken wing? Ok then buy lor.
zzz ... actually I wanted to say .. "compartments for lipstick, purse, handphone la..." aiyo... hahaha...
Launched in 1994, the Excellent Service Award or EXSA is a national award that recognises individuals who have delivered outstanding service. It seeks to develop service role models for staff to emulate, honour service champions and professionalise services.
This is how much work I have to do AFTER the 9 to 6 working hours.
From 9 to 6 : Busy with daily operations.
AFTER 6 : Clearing own work that has about 3 days SLA. Also to check your peer's work - those that she did the previous day, from her 9 to 6. And if she OT till 9pm, that means you will have to check all her work done from 9 to 9. Basically, the peers are checking one another's work among ourselves. Scary thing is, if she is on leave the next day, you will have to check her work PLUS her peers work! That ended up to be so much!
Worst is.. this is ROUTINE!
And if you've decided not to OT for one day, imagine how your work piles up.. Money also never pile up that fast..
We had our common washroom's basin changed 2 weeks ago, then we noticed a problem, each time after use, some water will accumulate and doesn't drain off completely, it's the amount that doesn't air dry itself even after one whole night.
I called the salesman, he replied,"Actually it is quite common that water accumulates in the basin, more or less there will be some."
Sigh... Yes I don't have the expertise in toilet installation, but please don't smoke me just because I'm a girl, or that I looked (to you) young and naive. I told him,"I'm not sure if it's the problem of the basin or the workmanship. If you tell me it's part of the design, I'll need to have it changed, if it's the workmanship, please have it corrected."
The salesman paused awhile and said,"Our customer service officer will call you back." You should have said this earlier uncle.
Then the manager from the customer service called me and very briefly, he said,"I will get someone to check out your basin this weekend, the person will call you."
So on the weekend, the someone came with a basin, he checked our basin and said, "I'm not going to touch your basin because it's not the basin's problem, it's the workmanship." He called the office, the customer service manager said he will get the previous guy who did the installation to come down, so this guy left with his basin.
Awhile later, another guy came, never seen him before. He asked, "who installed this basin for you?" Then we realised that, the previous guy who claimed to be him is actually his worker. He then made a phone call and complaint that the worker did not do a good job. He then detached the basin and attached it back 'properly'. But the basin is still a bit tilted and the water doesn't drain off completely though it looks better than before. So he changed the water stopper and surprisingly the water all drained like normal! So it seems to be the water stopper's fault!!
NO! You are wrong! I've just discovered that whether you lock it or not, the water still drain, coz it bypass the stopper and drain off! There's a gap between the stopper and the basin!!! I don't think he overlooked this, I think he purposely did it.
This is a very small matter, I actually don't need the stopper to stop the water from draining but it just bothers me when it doesn't function the way it's suppose to be. They are lucky that I wasn't around during both installations! Don't worry I won't scold them, I will just gently remind them,"Are you sure you are done?"
Sigh.. never mind already la, the next time they came, maybe they will say... I think your toilet is a bit tilted, your whole building is ia bit slanted... bla bla bla... Ya... all other things are at fault except your product and your workmanship. This is just so %@T#$M%@D#$!!
Tonight, CCM drove us to Jalan Kayu for Prata in his new Honda Jazz. Discovered two mobs in his car. "eee... What are these?". He couldn't name them, but he said the purple one is himself, and the green one is his wife. They look like mok~mok, aren't they? Haha...
This is the latest fashion in the office. erm... in my office i mean.
It's like a uniform that everyone has a pair. My colleague can't decide which pair she likes so we ended up having one side each. I don't mind coz it's quite cute, but I don't wear coz it's too warm and not very convenient to walk with. Some colleagues forget to change and walk into another department with it, some nearly entered the toilet with it. lol...
Anyway, if you really love to have one for practical use, buy an open toe one, else it would end up as a display, just my 2 cents.
These are some of the food you get to see & eat at Shilin Night Market (士林夜市) @ Taipei. I believe Taiwan has the best Mango Dessert in the world, must try! The rest of the food are very local, depends on individuals.
Some other nice food we had in the restaurants. The breakfast set on the bottom left is very interesting. The bread covered with varieties of nuts is toasted with sugar and it's very very special! I can't help going back the next morning for another set. Haha!
Eating in Taiwan is cheap and affordable. Some restaurants may seem too expensive to walk-in, but you will be surprise to find out later that you are paying lesser than expected. You will never get to eat a Full 8-Course Western Dinner for 2 @ only SGD50 in Singapore!
Had Chatterbox Chicken Rice @ Downtown East. I finished the chicken rice with 3 small saucers of ginger sauce, guys don't take ginger one, so I eat all. I love ginger! I also love the tofu (beancurd). Whether it's in soup, deep fried, cold, stinky... etc. I love them all, except egg tofu.
Nutritional Benefits of Tofu :
Tofu set with calcium sulfate can confer a significant amount of calcium to the diet
High in protein
Relatively low in fat (especially compared to meat)
Very naturally, when people see a cat, they will call it mimi, see a dog will call it ou~ou or poppi, see a Teddy will call it bear~bear. However, one thing tat puzzled me was, in my office i sometimes overheard one calling another - "You bird~bird la~" !??!?!
Anyway, tonight I would like to introduce you to a little pet adopted by Dean, in his iPhone. He calls it moo~moo, guess what it is!
Result to be announced tomorrow! If you guess it right, you can have his pet! Stay Tuned!
If you have guessed it right, like I've said, you can have his pet, though I also think that it's more appropriate to be called a mek~mek. However, you'd win! Congratulation!
To claim your winning prize, just do a right click on moo~moo >> and select the option "Save Image As..."
For those who did not guess it right this time, don't be disheartened. If you have guessed it as a cow, you deserve a consolation prize, coz I think cow deserved the name of moo~moo. So, here it goes. Cow Dung. lol~
For those who guessed neither, try harder next time. Good luck!
